As we enter into a period of new major power leaders openly advocating imperialism - threatening to invade allies indeed - seems clear than the post-WW2 consensus is rapidly fading away.
Britain may be caught on the back foot as one of the last bastions of liberal democracy, at least until our next general election when a far-right populist party might win significant numbers of seats.
Lots to consider in terms of international law, conventions and systems such as UNCLOS when faced with assertive nation states who want to change the status quo.
